Find out about the books I've written on this subject for many more exercises and the theory behind them, as well as information which will help you understand your own writing. The books are designed so you can try the exercises on your own or with a friend. Whether you consider yourself a writer or not is unimportant. What is important is learning about yourself. If you live in the greater Boston area, you can join one of the courses I teach using these ideas. Courses take place at the Cambridge Center for Adult Education, Curry College, and my office in Watertown. In a course setting you will meet with a group of people also interested in therapeutic writing and share ideas and experiences with them. Meeting with a group and getting feedback from me on the exercises we do can help you dig deeper and more rapidly discover what may lie beneath the surface. For an even deeper understanding of what makes you tick or if you are encountering a particularl situation or transition in your life, personal coaching may be the answer. The one-on-one attention you receive in coaching can help you understand and move through these times, as well as teach you the tools to apply in the future.
