About: Example
Here's an actual example of what someone wrote.

"I'm reading this because...I'm bored at work."
"I'm bored at work because...I hate what I do."
"I hate what I do because...I'm not using all my abilities here."
"I'm not using all my abilities here because...I never have the courage to go for a job I really want."
"I never go for what I want because if I got it then I might screw up, and lose the job, and then I'd feel even worse than I do now."

Do you see how this exercise can peel away several layers of thinking in a brief space of time? If you, like this person, tend to sabotage your own wishes, then this exercise may help to show you just how you block your own path to fulfillment. Do you find that you are afraid to go for what you really want? Why do you think that is? Perhaps you need to write about times when you did this.

This is just one example of one exercise I use. I have, literally, hundreds, some of which may involve drawing, or collage making, also. Writing for self-exploration can be used in as many ways as there are people doing the exercises.
